Hall Activities
Get yourself ready to be a resident
A residence hall is not only a place that you live, but it is also a community where you will learn, and in turn contribute to campus and hall life. Aside from academic pursuits, participating in hall activities is a great way to get to know people, discover the campus, and partake in a journey or self-discovery.
Hall Orientation
Hall Orientation is an excellent opportunity for residents to meet with each other in a casual and relaxed setting whilst enjoying dinner.
Floor Gathering
The Hall Education Team organizes regular floor gatherings, which allows the exchange of ideas, discussion of problems and social interaction.
Educational Workshop
Our Hall Tutors and Student Leaders in the Hall organize educational workshops for residents with common interests to learn from each other.
Residential Experiential Program
Residential Experiential Programs are SHRLO-organized activities for all UG & PG residents across all residential halls. Such activities aim to promote inter-hall interaction, cultural exchange, fitness & sportsmanship within the greater hall community. Some activities organized during the Fall Term of Residential Year 2024-25 include “Hong Kong Style Milk Tea Course”, “Mindfulness in Nature: A Forest Bathing Experience”, and “Lacrosse for Beginners”.
Student Groups
Hall residents are expected to commit to campus and hall life. Residence Masters, together with Residential Life Officers and Hall Tutors provide opportunities for residents to cultivate friendship and learn from one another. In addition, there are various student groups in our student halls to organize activities for hall residents. They are:
- House Students’ Associations, HKUSTSU: UG Halls I (House One), II (Vertex), III (Glacier), IV (Vista) and V (Endeavour)
- Connection Team: UG Hall VI (Unify)
- Leadership Team: UG Hall VII
- Organizing Teams: UG Halls VIII and IX (HKUST UG Halls VIII & IX)
