In response to the increasing demand for student accommodation, Sunny House @ Kai Tak is provided by SHRLO as an off-campus housing option in 2026-27, with a special price to eligible HKUST students.

Sunny House, located at 19 Luk Hop Street, San Po Kong, Kowloon East, is a modern co-living residence offering accommodation to University students and young professionals.

The property features 32,000 sq. ft. of shared facilities, including a gym, shared kitchen, study rooms, and outdoor sports courts, all are designed to support residents’ academic pursuits and social interaction.

Each fully furnished room with ensuite bathroom, is shared by 2 students. Essential services such as utilities, Wi Fi, and weekly cleaning are included in the accommodation package.

Residential Period

From 16 August 2026 to 30 July 2027 (both nights inclusive) 

 

Hall Charges

•    The charges are calculated regardless of the number of days per month.
•    The charges include water & electricity fee (inclusive of air-conditioning), weekly housekeeping services, free Wi-Fi and 24hr Security & CCTV System service.
•    Laundry charges are NOT included in the charges.

 

Payment Schedule

The charges of Sunny House are to be paid in 2 instalments as follows:

•    Posted to SIS in July 2026
•    Settled by 1 August 2026
2nd instalment 
(1 February 2027 – 31 July 2027)
•    Posted to SIS in December 2026
•    Settled by 15 January 2027

Note : Accommodation charges must be paid in FULL and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Students who accept the housing offers are committed to pay the accommodation charges of the ENTIRE period they have accepted irrespective of their actual days of stay.

*  For current PG residents staying in hall during RY2025–26 who accept the Sunny House offer, the check out date will be extended to 16 August 2026.

(c) Early Withdrawal: not applicable to Sunny House Residents. All charges posted are NON-refundable and NON-transferable.

Sunny House provides self‑service washers and dryers, separated by gender. Laundry fees are not included.

How to get to Sunny House

Shuttle bus service between Diamond Hill and HKUST is available. For the rest of the days, students may use public transport.

Staff / Student members are required to tap their University Staff / Student ID card or scan HKUST QR Code at the scanning box on the bus for identification before making a payment with their Octopus card.  Drivers are authorized to refuse service to individuals who do not complete this verification process.
